I’ve taken IELTS before. Does the TOEFL syllabus feel similar? What should I focus on?
There are similarities, but the TOEFL syllabus is more integrated and usually computer-based. You’ll deal with long academic passages, lectures, and structured speaking tasks. Personally, I use an IELTS reading practice test to sharpen scanning and skimming skills—it complements TOEFL reading really well. Both exams test comprehension, but TOEFL passages tend to be more academic, so combining materials gives an advantage.
